Housing

Our Mission is to create clean, safe and sober environments that stimulate healing, stability and growth for people facing housing insecurity.

We offer a tiered housing program. Pricing is based on a per bed social housing strategy, where multiple individuals share a bedroom. Member pricing includes housing, utilities, educational programs and community resources.

We combat the cycle of poverty with the Solomon’s Way Cycle. We provide a roadmap that allows individuals to gradually build money, resources and knowledge while using Solomon’s Way as a safety net. The program will take people from an orderly communal environment to an individualized private environment while building a foundation for success through education and community partnership. Those who graduate from the program can become housing providers that then create the next safety net for people coming through the program after them. It’s a cycle that reproduces thriving members of society step after step.

Educational Opportunities

WE ARE DEVELOPING THE MINDS, CHARACTER AND SKILL-SETS OF PEOPLE SO THAT THEY CAN BE VALUABLE ASSETS TO SOCIETY.

Embedded within this tiered housing program is a leadership program that provides educational modules, seminars, workshops, and other resources that cover a range of topics including job preparation, household management, financial literacy, time management, conflict resolution and emotional intelligence training.

By providing education, mentorships and other information, we are developing the minds, character and skill-sets of people so that they can be valuable assets to society who will share their nurtured gifts and God-given purpose with their community. Not only will they have better employment options to help lift them out of poverty, but they will be equipped to make decisions that allow them and their families to live safer, as well as emotionally and physically healthier lives. This type of innovative and comprehensive support will completely change the core environment of various communities.

Community Resources

YOUR ENVIRONMENT DIRECTLY IMPACTS YOUR MINDSET, ACTIONS AND OUTCOME. REMOVING PEOPLE FROM UNSAFE LIVING CONDITIONS ALLOWS THEM THE SPACE AND THE ASSETS TO THRIVE AND LEARN ALTERNATIVE WAYS TO LIVE AND BE SUCCESSFUL.

Solomon’s Way also partners with federal and state agencies, counseling and healthcare services and other community organizations to create positive reinforcement environments for our residents.

Providing people access to community resources gives them the opportunity to be in positive reinforcement environments that will propel their transformation and growth as an individual and provide a safety net that they can rely on to get their basic needs (food, water, shelter, relationships, internet, utilities, etc.) met.

Solomon's Way is different from current group living housing models in various ways:

Benefit of Sharing a living space

The benefit of sharing a living space is that it provides community and accountability among like peers. This promotes healing and growth as members transition back into society. This also allows Solomon’s Way to administer the other benefits of the program - educational opportunities and community network - as Tier 1 and Tier 2 include housing managers to help guide members through the Solomon’s Way Cycle.

Your Benefits

Benefit of
On-boarding fee

Benefit of On-boarding fee

The Onboarding fee is used to directly benefit the member. It covers bedding, toiletries, and other supplies that all members are provided once they enter the house. The member will also get to keep the supplies purchased with this fee.

Benefit of Sharing House Responsibilities

The benefit of this is that the maintenance of the property is a joint effort. This ensures that the property is indeed clean and safe. The house manager provides the accountability to ensure that every member participates in cleaning the house as necessary so that one person isn’t responsible for cleaning everything. After 6 months of participation, members can apply to be a house manager at either that house or other Solomon’s Way properties. Solomon’s Way also does routine maintenance and cleaning of the property.

Benefit of A Sober & Safe enviornment

Our goal is to ensure that the housing environment remains sober, safe and continues to stimulate the healing and growth of our members. We do this in Tiers 1 and 2 by limiting visitation to the property. This time away from visitors gives our members the breathing room and freedom to develop the new habits needed for their healing, stability and growth. In addition to this, all members sign a behavioral agreement stating that they will peaceably live in the property or else face reprimanding action including expulsion from the program.

Tier 1 and Tier 2 housing operates under a strict sober living policy - no alcohol or foreign substances allowed on the property.  Members must apply to Solomon's Way for the permission to use prescribed medication on the premises. Proof of a diagnosis and prescription from a certified medical doctor is required to obtain permission to use the products within Solomon's Way housing.

We are ensuring clean, safe and sober environments within our housing. Members can transfer to any property within our system and can rest assured that the same standards of sobriety and safety are being met. We are ensuring that people who require transitional housing are given an environment that truly supports their growth and stability.

Our Story

Meet Your Leaders

Why did two career engineers hand in their badges and start a non-profit? Well, it all started with a question:

Our Chief Executive Officer and Co-Founder is Zafir Hussein. Zafir Hussein has a degree in Mechanical and Civil Engineering Technology from Wentworth Institute of Technology in Boston, MA. Equipped with this degree, Zafir worked as an aerospace engineer for close to a decade, running certification testing for the world’s newest airliners. Zafir also has a background in applied neurology, general contracting, property management and real estate investing, and at one point managed over a dozen properties in Upstate New York.

His wife, Elizabeth Hussein, is the Chief Operating Officer and Co-Founder. She has a Mechanical Engineering degree from the University of Connecticut in Storrs, CT. She too has almost a decade of experience as an aerospace engineer leading teams of engineers to develop advanced technology for military and commercial jet engines.

• Give people a FRESH START

• End the cycle of poverty for countless people and their families

• Be a launch pad that propels individuals to become self-sufficient, THRIVING members of society

• Be the solution to the affordable housing crisis across the United States of America

• Provide safe places for rehabilitation and healing

What if we could...

We decided that we CAN and we WILL!!!

Early in 2020, Covid-19 brought the country to a screeching halt. Zafir and Elizabeth had moved from Connecticut to Tulsa, Oklahoma. Elizabeth had been released from a ministry internship. Zafir, who mostly traveled for work, was unable to travel due to Covid restrictions. They both knew that God had brought them to Tulsa, but in the wake of Covid, they questioned “For What?”. It was in this moment of confusion, that the clarity of God’s will for their lives was illuminated. Zafir, who had a passion for real estate, felt called to establish a non-profit to provide social housing for people facing housing insecurity.

The Non-Profit Zafir and Elizabeth created is called Solomon’s Way.

In the Bible, King Solomon was the son of King David. King David desired to build a temple to worship God, but was prohibited, because he was a man of war who had too much blood on his hands.

God promised King David that his son, Solomon, would build the temple instead.
King David purchased the land for the temple and acquired the resources to build it, but Solomon fulfilled God's promise and actually built the temple,

Just as Solomon stood on his father David's shoulders to accomplish God’s promise, Solomon's Way is standing on the shoulders of both federal and private housing institutions that have laid the groundwork for resolving the housing insecurity issues within the United States.

Unfortunately, millions of people continue to fall through the gaps in these institutions everyday.

Solomon's Way is the net that catches these people. We are the fulfillment of the promise of the American Dream: providing housing solutions that act as a foundation for people to be able to pursue Life, Liberty and Happiness.

On a personal note, Zafir is standing on the shoulders of his parents Ayube and Fadhila Hussein. Fadhila Hussein, Zafir’s mother, has been a housing provider in Upstate New York for over a decade. Zafir’s father, Ayube, had always expressed a desire to help the less fortunate, particularly young men, by providing them with an environment to cultivate their gifts, but unfortunately passed before achieving his dream.

Zafir is now standing on the shoulders of both his parents to carry on their legacy and accomplish the purpose and promise of God for him and his family.
